LONG ISLAND PSYCHOLOGY CONFERENCE — MAY 1, 2011 @ ST. JOSEPH’S COLLEGE
Students – consider adding a line to your resume by giving a poster presentation or talk at the 7th annual Long Island Psychology Conference. All submissions must involve original empirical research in which an undergraduate or graduate student is the principal author (independent study projects, thesis projects, or even research seminar projects could be a good fit). They will be reviewed by the LIPC Selection Committee which reserves the right to determine acceptability for presentation. Please note the submission requirements below.
The 2011 Long Island Psychology Conference is cooperatively sponsored by the Psychology Departments at Adelphi University, Hofstra University, LIU-C.W. Post College, Molloy College, The College at Old Westbury, St. John’s University, St. Joseph’s College, and Stony Brook University, and is funded in part by a grant from Psi Chi.
SUBMISSION FORMAT:1. E-mail submissions to Dr. Paul Hawryluk, Conference Director, at the following address –firstname.lastname@example.org 2. On the e-mail subject line, enter “LIPC 2011 Submission” 3. In the body of the e-mail message, state: a) the title of your research b) your name(s) and institutional affiliation(s) c) the principal author’s mailing address, telephone number, and e-mail address d) the name, affiliation, and e-mail address of any sponsoring faculty member e) whether you intend a paper or poster presentation 4. Attach an abstract (maximum of 200 words) describing the research, noting the variables investigated, characteristics of the sample, the nature of the design, the results of the data analysis, and the conclusions drawn. Acceptable formats include .doc, .docx, and .pdf.
SUBMISSION DEADLINE: FRIDAY, APRIL 15, 2011, 12 Noon
The Selection Committee will notify principle authors by e-mail concerning acceptance of their submissions by Wednesday, April 20, 2011.
