RA Position at the BioBehavioral Institute

Research Assistant position at the BioBehavioral Institute (it is possible to earn PSY internship credit for this position):

The BioBehavioral Institute is an internationally known psychology and psychiatric clinic dedicated to the treatment and research of anxiety and mood disorders. Responsibilities include but are not limited to: 1. Entering data; 2. Analyzing data; 3. Literature research; 4. Event planning and organization; 5. Assisting in therapeutic exercises; 6. Running experiments.

Applicants are expected to be proficient in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel. Applicants will be expected to be comfortable with general paperwork, such as scanning documents and editing various digital files. Applicants will also be expected to know how to run various analyses using SPSS. Applicants may be asked to learn and use specialized software for specific experiments, therefore applicants must be comfortable with and technologically savvy enough to learn and then use new programs as needed.

Research Assistants are expected to intern 12-15 hours per week, as well as attend weekly staff meetings every Tues. typically from 11:30am-1:30pm.

Accepted applicants will be expected to start immediately and continue throughout the school year. Hofstra students may be eligible for up to 3 PSY credits as part of the Psychology Internship Program (for more information see the Psychology Internships Website: http://people.hofstra.edu/Kristin_M_Weingartner/psyintern.html
