The National Center for Human Factors Engineering in Healthcare has a position open for a full time research assistant: Bachelors degree required, and research experience highly desirable. The Center’s mission is to apply human factors engineering principles and research methods to improve safety, efficiency, and reliability in the healthcare/medical field. We conduct funded research and consulting in human factors and usability.
The Research Assistant will work closely to support Center faculty members on research and consulting activities. The RA will typically help to support research studies and usability evaluations, recruit study participants, collect research data, perform data entry, update databases, perform literature searches, and transcribe audio recordings. This is an entry level position and a PhD would be considered overqualified. We seek individuals who are self-motivated with strong organizational skills and follow through, are able to be proactive while working with minimal supervision, and enjoy being part of a close team. Strong writing skills are highly desirable.
