Dr Anjan Chatterjee, M.D. and Professor of Neurology at the University of Pennsylvania discusses his new book The Aesthetic Brain: How We Evolved to Desire Beauty and Enjoy Art. It’s said that beauty is in the eye of the beholder.
But the eye is connected to the brain. Dr. Chatterjee uses neuroscience to probe how an aesthetic sense is etched in our minds and evolutionary psychology to explain why aesthetic concerns feature centrally in our lives.
This event is free and open to the public. For more information contact the Hofstra Cultural Center at 516-463-5669.
The Neuroscience Club and its organizer Eric Leonardis were instrumental in arranging Dr. Chatterjee’s visit. It should be a great talk.
