Research Asst, Oregon Health & Science

The Fair Neuroimaging Lab, under the direction of Dr. Damien Fair, has an opening for an energetic and highly motivated full-time research assistant. The incumbent will assist with study visits, including psychological testing of research participants, data scoring and entry for an ongoing longitudinal NIH-funded research study on children with Autism Spectrum Disorder and children with ADHD. Other duties will include operating and assisting with MRI scans for a longitudinal research study on children with ADHD. Duties will also include the recruitment, and screening of study participants, as well as other general laboratory duties in support of the goals of the study. Applicants must be willing and able to work flexible hours (some evenings and weekends are required).

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree with major courses in field of research and No Experience, OR AA and 2 years of relevant experience
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills to appropriately interact regularly with children and their families
  • Sufficient computer knowledge to learn to interface with a variety of database, statistical, and other software, such as Microsoft Office, SPSS, Excel, Access
  • Effectiveness in organizing tasks and setting priorities, multi-tasking
  • Ability to work efficiently with minimum oversight
  • Ability to interact constructively with faculty and staff
  • Ability to be adaptable, creative, a quick learner
  • Ability to work with MRI equipment
