Lab Manager Position 

Early Childhood Interaction Lab (

Department of Human Development and Quantitative Methodology 

Director: Dr. Geetha Ramani

The University of Maryland, College Park Early Childhood Interaction Lab directed by Dr. Geetha Ramani is seeking a bright and energetic full-time lab manager.  Research conducted in the ECI lab focuses on understanding how young children’s social interactions with adults and peers influence their cognitive development.  We are also interested in how play and informal learning activities can promote children’s thinking in the areas of mathematics and problem solving.

Responsibilities will include data collection in local schools and in the lab, participant and school recruitment, preparation and management of IRB protocols, data entry, database management, transcription of interactions, and data storage and backup.  Additionally, the lab manager will supervise undergraduate research assistants and be responsible for general lab upkeep.

Applicants must have a Bachelor’s degree in psychology, human development, public health, education, or related field.  Preference will be given to applicants with previous research experience or prior experience working with children.  The position requires access to a car for travelling to schools for data collection.

Salary will be competitive and includes health benefits. Application review will begin immediately. This is a 1-year position with the likelihood of renewal for an additional year.
