Research assistant opportunity at Hofstra, including weekend work in NYC

Seeking one or more undergraduate volunteers to assist with a graduate student research project exploring the use of an ACT (Acceptance and Commitment Therapy) protocol for treatment of audition/performance anxiety in professional musical theater performers. Candidates are expected to:

-Be available to come to the studio in Times Square for the 8 session treatment to administer/collect self-report measures, setup and breakdown room, and assist in administering treatment. Some funds to reimburse LIRR/subway travel into the city will be available. Treatments are currently expected to occur on Sundays starting in February 2017. As of now, the dates are expected to include: 2/12, 2/19, 2/26, 3/5, 3/12, 3/26, 4/2, and 4/9

-Email participants links to questionnaires

-Data entry

-Proofread text and formatting of adapted book and protocol

-Print and organize materials

-Help the primary investigator to feel less overwhelmed

-(Optional, but preferred) Be willing to come into NYC one day in January to post flyers at 6-7 audition locations throughout midtown Manhattan

Extra bonus points for candidates who have an interest in musical theater/have ever been in a play/have friends who are performers/took an acting class once/play an instrument/sing in the shower/know who Sutton Foster is. Good sense of humor is a must!
